The boy, Joseph Ortiz-Resto, was pronounced dead at the Connecticut Children's Medical Center. Bordelies, who had run from the scene, turned himself in to police about 6 p.m. Thursday after speaking with a lawyer.
West Hartford Teenage Involved In Shooting Last Month
The attorney for Andre Cook, one of the six Conard High School students charged in connection with last month’s shooting, said his client has avoided expulsion, but has lost special privileges.
“He’s upset. He's remorseful and upset he can't walk and graduate with the rest of his class,” said Deron Freeman, the attorney representing 18-year-old Cook.
Cook, a Conard senior, was charged with breach of peace and interfering with an officer after police say Cook’s 17-year-old classmate shot a 19-year-old man outside an Abbottsford Avenue home last month.
Deron said the school will allow Cook to graduate with a private tutor.
